B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT)

Bachelor in Science in Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc.MLT) is a 4 year program aiming to produce internationally competent laboratory professionals.

Objectives

• To integrate basic scientific knowledge with medical and diagnostic services.
• To impart competency-based knowledge in evidence-based laboratory medicine in testing and report interpretation for the diagnosis, prognosis, monitoring the treatment and screening health.
• To develop competent knowledge and skill for the produce quality medical technologists.  
• To establish and manage clinical or research laboratories nationwide.
• To strengthen the Total Laboratory Quality Management System recommended by MoHP Nepal and WHO.
• To strengthen and ensure national health strategies and health securities through quality laboratory diagnostic services.

Admission Requirement

MMIHS will strictly follow the rules and regulations of the University and Medical Education Commission. The candidate must have I. Sc. or 10+2 degree securing at least 50% marks in aggregate or GPA 2.4 with major subjects such as physics, chemistry and biology or equivalent; or certificate in medical laboratory technician with registration in respective council. Besides, the basic academic requirement, the students should be qualified on the entrance examination taken by Medical Education Commission to enroll in the program.
