The orientation of new batches of Master in Public Health and MSC Clinical Biochemistry program was held at MMIHS today. Head of the Public Health Depertment Ms Durga Mishra delivered welcome speech for the newly admitted students. During the program, the documentary of the college was presented. Visiting Faculty of MMIHS Prof Bradley Pullock, Chair of Public Health Program at Universitv of California Davis USA, Prof van Edwin Tengjlin Professor of Bournemouth University, Dr Julie Balen and Dr Simon Rushton of Sheffield University UK delivered the welcome speech via video record. Prof Dr Sujan B Marahatta, Assistant Campus chief, presented of few slides on academic activities at MMIHS. He also shared the achievements and challenges of postgraduate public health program. Likewise, Dr Mahendra pd Bhatta, Hod of Lab medicine, presented the plan of MSc Clinical Biochemistry program. Prof Dr. Madhav Gautam, visiting faculty of MMIHS inspired the students to focus on academic development and research skills to establish as a competent professional. Dr Radhika Thapalaya, joint Secretary of MOHP, highlighted the scope of public health in the changing context. Delivering the inaugural speech, Mr Jiwan Prakash Sharma, Vice chair of MMIHS, welcomed all the newly admitted students & highlighted the nature of the institution. he described the activities MMIHS is executing to expand academic, research and services in the Health sciences education in Nepal. The new Year calendar was also released in the program. The program was chaired by campus chief Prof Bishnu Bhattarai.
