Successfully conducted two days "Training Workshop on Ethics in Health Research". The program was organized by Nepal Health Care Co-operative Limited (Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences - MMIHS) in collaboration with Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC), Kathmandu. The program was inaugurated by MMIHS campus chief Dr. Dharma Prasad Khanal with the special session of chief guest Dr. Pradip Gyawali, excutive chief (member secretary) of NHRC. The health research ethics training program was fully facilitated with special session of various guest lectures by Ms. Namita Ghimire, Research Officer, Ethical Review M & E Section, and NHRC and supported by Ms. Richa Acharya. All the NEHCO-IRC members and faculty participants were trained and benefitted by this workshop. The training workshop provided an opportunity to learn on the challenging topic of the interface between public engagement and ethics, focusing on research ethics and integrity. The workshop aimed to create a shared understanding of the actions needed to foster more effective and efficient Institutional Review Committee (IRC) governance, research projects/ proposal review and monitoring. At the end of second day, the short formal program was hosted by IRC Chair Dr. Mahendra Bhatt and closed with the closing remark of Dr. Ram Kumar Adhikari, Coordinator of MMIHS management committee and concluded by Campus Chief Dr. Dharma Prasad Khanal. Coordinator Dr. Ram Kumar Adhikari and campus chief Dr. Dharma Prasad Khanal presented token of love to the facilitators from NHRC and distributed training certificates to all the participants.
