Seminar was held on 27 June 2023 in collaboration with MMIHS and University of California Davis on- Understanding Diarrheal Disease Among Nepali Children Under 5 Years and Avenues of Prevention,
Dr Amod Pokhrel, Senior Lecturer of University of California- Berkeley and Visiting faculty at University of California- Davis and Jason Tin, an MPH candidate at UC Davis delivered the presentation. There was intensive discussions on the determinant of childhood diarrhoea in Nepal and the prevention measures that needs to be tailored to address the burden. Prof Sujan B Marahatta, visiting professor of University of California Davis highlighted on the System thinking approach to understand the causes and interrelationship between different variables to result diarrhoea problem amongst the children. The ongoing policy interventions were also discussed. The seminar recommended to develop the strategic framework for the diarrhoea prevention and the need of inter-sectoral approaches to address the burden.
