The scope of infectious disease diagnostics and molecular microbiology in laboratory medicine has expanded exponentially. There is a high demand for clinical microbiology experts to maintain technical expertise, combat antimicrobial resistance, and provide consultative skills in the medical laboratory profession.
There is an emerging need for specialized professionals in health laboratory services, academic institutions, and research fields both in Nepal and globally to strengthen diagnostic practices. With the increasing number of graduates and limited local opportunities for specialization, expanding Master’s studies in Clinical Microbiology is essential to meet responsibilities in diagnostics, medical academics, and public health research.
