Responsibilities
Postdoctoral Fellows at MMIHS are within 5 years of graduation with a PhD degree. The position provides the opportunity to expand the career of PDF beyond the academic research environment to engage policy application, translation, and dissemination. The position is in the field of Health Services Research.
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of researchers working on a project funded by the Health Systems Research Initiative entitled ‘The impact of federalisation on Nepal's health system: a longitudinal analysis’. This project will track, in real time, the massive health system reform process underway in Nepal as a result of the implementation of its new Constitution, in particular the shift to a Federal government system. Working in eight communities as well as Provincial capitals and Kathmandu, the proposed project will utilize Participatory Policy Analysis backed by more traditional forms of qualitative and quantitative data to track the perceptions of health systems stakeholders at all levels as the reform process unfolds. Taking a holistic approach to the health system, the project will examine all of the WHO's health system building blocks as well as investigating the complex relationships between them.
The position offers an excellent multicultural environment for interaction with scholars from different countries and diverse academic backgrounds (including political scientists, sociologists, health economists and health systems experts). To that end, we are looking for post-doctoral researchers who will work with Professor of MMIHS, partner institutions and relevant stakeholders to advance our agenda. The position is open to candidates who demonstrate that they can contribute to the ongoing research, policy translation, and capacity building projects in the Institute.
Required qualifications and experience
Remuneration: Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience according to suitability of candidates.
Duration of contract: This is full-time employment. The period of initial contract will be for 12 months, starting from 1 April 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter, and it will be extended depending on the performance.

MMIHS organized a webinar onPsycho social Counseling to the students of PCL (CTEVT program) on2077/04/13. Karuna Kunwar, a psychologist, oriented the students in a more organized way . She presented about 12 tips to the students on how to manage the time during such pandemic period. About 210 students & teachers were present in the webinar. Bishnu Bhattarai, campuschief, welcomed all the participants & asked the students to bring the learnt ideas from the webinar into real life situation. Jiwan Prakash Sharma, Vice Chairman, thanked the counselor for her presentation & suggested the students to follow her tips & to spend the time with the family members in a more happy & healthy environment.
